Sometimes You’re Waiting to Cut Cable
Some runs you wrap and finish the same day. Others end up waiting on something you don’t control, like a foundation that hasn’t been poured or a termination point that isn’t ready, and nobody can tell you the final length. The cable is too expensive to cut on a guess, so the run sits there loaded and waiting.
HOW IT WORKS
Open or Close the Jaw Mid-Run
The 312 handles the large majority of cable and conduit bundling work. The JAW is that same design built for the jobs that need one more thing from it. It opens up, so the cables come in or out without being cut and the machine can move on to the next run whenever you’re ready for it.
THE BUILD
Built for Bigger Machines
The JAW is heavier duty than the 312 and has an optional rigid excavator mount on top, so you can run it off a larger excavator.
It wraps the same cable/conduit sizes as the 312: 4/0 through 1500 MV (120 to 800 mm) cable, roughly 1 to 3 inches (25 to 77 mm) outside diameter.
Common Questions
Will it damage my cable?
We built the JAW for cable from the beginning. It isn’t a machine built for something else that we adapted. It handles 4/0 through 1500 (120 to 800 mm) cable, or conduit that is 1 to 3 inches (25 to 77 mm) outside diameter.
How does it fit what we already do?
You shouldn’t have to change your process to use it, so there are multiple ways to run it. You can mount it directly to your reel trailer. You can mount it on our trailer and double-tow it behind your reel trailer. You can park it and pull the cables through without moving it. Or you can hang it off an excavator and track along next to the trench as you go. Use the Quick Mount to easily unlatch and lift the JAW to release the cables.
How much maintenance?
Not much. No motors, no engines, no electronics. It needs grease at the grease points on a regular schedule.
